No Maxi Monday

For this Visible Monday/Monday Mingle I am not wearing a maxi. I had a new eyelash/confetti scarf that I wanted to wear, so I decided to go with jeans and a tee instead. I don't know about all of you, but I tend to do things in phases. Right now I am wanting to wear scarves. Last fall and winter I wasn't that enthused about wearing them. I tend to go full bore whenever I get interested or intrigued by something. I used to think it was a personality flaw, but now I realize it is just how I roll and accept it.

Tee from 1/2 of 1/2 store
Jeans: French Dressing Jeans
Scarf: from Ann's Fashions
Sandals: Red Patent Think! Sandals
Bracelets on Left: Noosa Amsterdam top, bottom from TJMaxx
Right: Yurman, Yurman, & Bead Bracelet
Harry was wilder than a March hare and was running about like a mad dog. We had to bribe him with biscuits to get him to even stand still. He wanted his picture taken and I had a number of them with noses and tail shots. After the bribery, we did get a few good shots.

Saturday, we went to see the Oscar Meyer WeinerMobile at a local grocery store. It was fun to see. Every bit of it is customized, including the seat covers and dash. I tried to get some good photos of the inside but the glare on the windows made most of the pictures too blurry.

My husband talked to the driver who happened to be a young woman. She said it handled surprisingly well in the wind (we have had some high winds lately) in spite of its ungainly looking body.

I hope all of you have had a lovely Monday and that you visit Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday and Momtrends for Monday Mingle.

  1. The WienerMobile!! I remember we had a toy version when we were kids. Seeing the real thing would have been the coolest thing ever. I love your scarf! It looks lightweight and versatile, and adds some nice texture to your outfit.

  2. Your hair looks good.

With cooling weather I've seen more scarves around. Yours is very nice, light because it's still fairly warm. Did you try making a vest out of it?

    1. It is not made to where I could've done a vest out of it. I have bunches though that I will be trying!

  3. I too love scarves and you look wonderful. I saw the weinermobile many years ago when my kids were small. Very cool.

  5. OMG a weiner mobile...I had no idea!
Those Yurman bangles are so interesting they really make a statement.

    1. I love my Yurman bracelets and wear them almost every day. While expensive to purchase, the cost per wear is down to very little now. Some of my costume jewelry is much more expensive if I figure cost per wear. Makes me wish I had saved my money and bought more Yurman!

  6. The Weiner mobile! Lucky you! I really like your scarf and totally empathize with your new-found enthusiasm. (I did try the scarf-as-vest last Friday and it worked!). Harry is so, so handsome, and smart enough to demand bribes : > Love him.

Thanks for linking up with Visible Monday!

  8. I'm so glad you named this scarf - eyelash/confetti. I never knew what to call mine. Like you, I go through phases too, and, like you, I just roll with it. Also, like your dog, I respond well to bribes! This is a great look. That sounds like a man question: how does it handle in the wind? Ha! But it's a good question.

    1. Hi Melanie!
A pin or a broach is a good way to face wind problems. If not for a roof at least it is for a scarf.lOL ! That's what I do sometimes. And when the scarf is delicate then I tuck it into the broach (no holes in the scarf this way) before pinning the broach on my top. Hope it helps :-)

  9. Hi Debbi!
What a lovely scarf! I think you made a perfect choice in wearing it on a red tee shirt. It creates a nice contrast. As it is a large scarf (maybe I'd call it a shawl), have you tried to tilt the knot to the side (on one shoulder)? It would look great too this way.
And your dog is just adorable:-) I am a dog lover (we have a chocolate lab). It's so good to spoil our friends with treats... right?

    1. Actually the scarf is kind of unusual. It is sewn along half of one side of it so that it gives a poncho type effect but different because it is does not have the typical hole in the middle like a poncho. I had tucked part of the bottom of it back up in the neckline. I've never seen anything quite like it before.

  10. I like the scarf and the way you've draped it. I'm wondering if you also add a scarf to Harry, what he would do at picture time? It's cool that you got to see the Weinermobile. Did you get a whistle too?

    1. Nope, no whistle. They were giving out little pieces of hot dogs but nothing else.

  11. The scarf is lovely - I really like the red with it. Harry is such a handsome boy.

  12. Love this! Very rock'n'roll. Red is a fabulous color for you. I'm still rather intimidated by scarves and tying them to look good. But I am all about the ankle boots. I am obsessed with boots and I'm so happy the weather has broken just a little bit.

Harry sounds like the kitties were this weekend. So excited I could hardly get pictures. I did manage to get one scratching Spike's chest and one where Bruce fell asleep in front of the television. Silly furballs.

  13. The Weinermobile! It came to my school in Wheaton, Illinois when I was in 2d or 3d grade, driven by Little Oscar (I always thought it was Mr. Mayer himself, but now, 50 years later, the internet tells me otherwise). What a blast from the past. :)
I love the scarf and the bracelets!

  14. Graphic black and white with red=gorgeous. You look wonderful in this combination. I like your hair too. Blonder, maybe? The weinermobile is hilarious!! Have a great week!!

  15. Love the term "going full bore"....that is exactly how i usually approach most things!

  16. Love this colour on you and the addition of the scarf makes it extra fun.

  17. That scarf is so delicate and unique, of course you'd have to get a bunch more. Definitely not a personality flaw.

  18. Oooh, gorgeous outfit and accessories today, Debbi. Love the scarf and the bright red top and shoes with it. Your hair looks pretty too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's a very pretty scarf and looks great over the bright red tee. I know what you mean about being a fashion phase bore - I tend to do the same thing!

  20. I love what you have done with your hair, and that gorgeous scarf over your shoulders makes a perfect style, dear Debbie.

  21. Debbi, I really like how the scarf is draped in that first photo.
I got into a scarf phase about 3 years ago and I haven't got out of yet, now they're bursting from my drawers.

  22. This is one of my favorite outfits so far, and your hair looks great. The color of the blouse along with the drape of the scarf is perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Beautiful way to wear a scarf. I'm gonna steal that idea!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love the draping of that scarf -- I'm getting back into my scarves as the weather cools here. I find I'm not as interested in them during the summer.
    What a cute-looking dog!

  25. What makes it an eyelash/confetti scarf? It really looks great the way you have it draped around your shoulders over that bright red tunic top. I go into phases full bore too and usually for a long while (years) and then just abruptly stop when the interest there is finished.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love your outfit!! Both the scarf and your jewelry really accessorize it well, too. I know what you mean about going through phases. I do that with colors! Thanks for coming to say hello at my blog.

  27. Love your outfit!!! I'm getting more interested in my scarves now that it's cooled off some!
    Harry is just too adorable!

Harry is adorable and the scarf is a brilliant choice!

  31. I love this look on you! The scarf breaks up the swath of bright color from your shirt nicely, and adds a lot of texture to the outfit.

I, too, have a photo of the Weinermobile....

  32. it´s excellent style and new ideas every time.

  33. One of my favorites among your outfits that I've seen of late. The point on your shirt takes the eye right to your cute little sandals. Classic. I'm loving the textural and color contrast provided by the scarf. Not too much jewelry ... and it's in the right place. So cute, and looking very modern.

  34. What a cool scarf! I love them too and even wear them when I'm just hanging out at home (all I seem to be able to do lately) A few years ago I saw the wiener mobile and had to stop. I used to have a little whistle. Knowing my Mom it's still packed away in a box somewhere

  35. Your eyelash/confetti scarf is draped very artfully over your bright red tee and the red sandals allow a viewing of your chic polish color. It's always fun to see Harry join in the party!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well I go through phases, too.right now I'm into basics and accessories before that into dresses and scarves and it goes on.The scarf you're wearing is a statement piece and you did a good job by keeping the rest simple. So nice to see your dog.

  37. I have never seen the Weinermobile! I am so jealous - I can't imagine getting my husband to go see it with me, so I'm double jealous. I love your outfit. That scarf is wonderful. I wore a scarf every day for years until I got introduced to the Midwest version of Summer. Need to get back in the habit - this rainy September seems about time.

  38. You look marvellous in bright red, Debbi! Good call balancing the wonderfully dramatic drape of the scarf with more fitted pants rather than a maxi. I have a thing for scarves too, but am totally hopeless at tying them in such interesting ways!

Thanks for the Weinermobile facts too! :D

  39. Hello my dear Debbie, I bought the belt in a car boot sale in England for 50 pence. I think it is 80s.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  40. Hee! Weinermobile!

I know what you mean about style phases. I am about to go into a scarf phase -- big time -- but it's still too hot here. Looking forward to it, though. Love your look!

  41. Your scarf is very beautiful. It looks great the way you've draped it! The sandals are lovely - one can only hope this brand will available to us Europeans too some day.

Harry always manages to look fantastic - or you've been very patient! He is such a handsome dog!

The Wienermobile is too funny! Can one get a ride, or is it just for advertising?
