When I was in my teens I had a really cool (okay, it was cool in the 60's) outfit that I wore all the time. The shirt was a sheer brown and white print fabric with fringe trimming from the shoulders and down around the bust area as well as across the back. The pants were white bell bottoms and had a fringed fabric belt that matched the shirt. I felt as visible in that outfit as I did in the one I am sharing today. Some might say that I was a bit over the top in today's outfit, but I say to heck with them.

My sweater has silver threads woven throughout. It is a loose weave meant for layering. I chose a black shirt to give it a bit of a gray cast so it would pick up the gray color in the scarf.
As usual, when we were taking pictures, Harry had to get in the action with his loofa dog toy. He loves the toy because he can shake it, squeak it, and flea bite it. He likes to put it against our bodies and then flea bite it. He had it against DH's back while he was trying to take the pictures. This picture is one taken when I called him to me so as to stop pestering the photographer.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy this Visible Monday linkup. I am always in awe at that wonderful style that so many of you share each week.
Hi Debbi and Harry! Harry you are too adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI dig sparkles and fringe, too. That scarf is beautiful!
Your outfit with the white bell bottoms sounds fun and very stylish for that time period.
I don't think this look is OTT at all! You've kept the focus in one area, and kept the rest simple. Love that fringe. Your Harry is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAs I'm a new follower & as yet haven't had time to browse through your older posts. I think I'm liking what you choose to wear, the scarf gives a whole new look to your glittery sweater. Depending on the weather & what I'm doing I also love to wear a bit of glitter during the day. It puts me in a good mood. I hope it made you feel happy.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Barbara Lilian
Love the scarf, and the dog!
ReplyDeleteLove this combination of sparkle and fringe, Debbi. Oh I wore my bell-bottoms to the nub in the 60's too, and your outfit with all the fringe sounds groovy. Hi Harry - handsome as ever, and so sweet. Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday!
ReplyDeleteHarry is such a lovely dog! My dog never plays with toys, he's a bit boring to tell the truth!
ReplyDeleteI don't find anything 'over the top' about this outfit - if I had your legs I'd be happy to wear every single piece here! I can't have enough glitter and sparkle. The top is beautiful, and more versatile than one would think. The shoes are of the same brand as the red glitter shoes, right? They're fantastic! The scarf is of course what ties everything together, and yet another beauty!
oh, debbie what a beautiful sparkling sweater and the shoes match so well! a fabulous dress with the fringe scarf. harry is so a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteDebbi- I love you in your sparkles and fringe!! I can picyte you in your fringed outfit so many years ago!! i'll bet it was AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteHarry is such a HAM!!!
The sparkles are fun - I LOVE the shoes! You should share a picture of you in your fringed outfit! Would love to see it.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! So shiny @u@ Sounds like your outfit was the bees knees, and so is your modern day inspiration. It has been too warm for very heavy clothes lately. I didn't even need my jacket I brought along today. Probably could have gone without the tights too.
ReplyDeleteI think it's fun to find something that takes us back to our favorites in the past! This is such a fun casual look...its too warm here as well!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie; the scarf is really cute. I had a pair of bell bottoms with a fringed belt too. I actually still have one of my fringed belts from the 70's. It doesn't fit quite the same :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Debbi. Your 60's outfit you described sounds sooooo cool. Today's outfit is not over the top...it's just perfect. I love the sparkly sweater and shoes. The fringy scarf is pretty awesome too!
ReplyDeleteHarry...such a cutie. :)
Hardly over the top, Debbi. Just right. Black and white and sparkles. How cool is that?!. Not to be outmatched by Harry, though. He's too cute.
ReplyDeleteNot even close to over the top, and frankly, who cares anyway? You look great, and very at home in your sparkles and fringe.
ReplyDeleteAdorable pet photos are always a bonus; my feline lunkhead is afraid of the camera, so he tends to run and hide when I'm doing my photos.
Good attitude Debbie the heck with people wear what you want!
ReplyDeleteI figure i have and you have one life to live so wear the sparkle girl!
you look fabulous

I just love he whole thing! It's just the right amount of "over the top" which is always a great look! Hugs girly! Serene
ReplyDeleteWow, that silvery sweater is the business - I love it! The scarf is perfect, the black fringe great against the silver. Brilliant all round, as always. Hi to doggie :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you had a picture of your old outfit - but this one is great. Aw, look at Harry - what a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteNice looking outfit! I think the scarf at the neck is a great accent.
ReplyDeleteNot over the top at all--love the scarf and the dog!
ReplyDeleteThose Chico's jeans look great! They make you look positively slim.
ReplyDeleteYou have just the right amount of sparkle and fringe! Loved the description of the white bell bottom outfit; those were the days. Harry is a dear of a dog, as far as I can tell from here.
ReplyDeleteNot over the top at ALL! Great scarf! Love your Harry!
ReplyDeleteLet the sparkly sweater season begin! I really love this time of year for the opportunity to put together jeans and cute sweaters with a little party in them. Once again, you are enviably well put together, and cute as a button. Enjoy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Your surely know how to accessorize. The outfit looks good on your. You rock it!

To heck with them is right!! You are awesome - there's nothing like an outfit that recalls something sweet from the past. It just seems to add an extra lightness to the step. That's so funny how Farley wants in on the action. You have the greatest glitter shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love the connections you make with your 60s outfit -- and the way that you put sparkle in something that can be worn during an ordinary day (which, then, isn't ordinary anymore given the transformational strength of sparkle!). . . let the celebrations begin!
ReplyDeleteDebbi, you look awesome! I love your description of your outfit from the '60's. You remind me that there is not enough fringe in the world - how is it that I don't think I have anything fringed? - not right!!! Rock on, cool lady.
