I am sure it is no surprise that I am wearing a jacket today. The collar on this jacket is really cute. I am not sure exactly how it is made, but it has a ruffled collar which adds a lot to the jacket. I got the jacket for 70% off at CJBanks. It is from a new line they had that evidently did not go over very well. The jacket has some really cute detailing that I really liked. I don't think I would have bought it at the original price, but for 70% off, I like it a lot. In real life, the purple in the jacket is much brighter than it appears here. Oh, and I did not put my shoes back on for the pictures. So, you are going to see my socks with little fuzzy lambs on them. Stacy and Clinton don't like funny socks, but I do.

Necklace: Chico's You can see the collar detail here much better. |
I need some advice on whether or not I should keep the sweater and top shown below. I am not sure if the color is really good for me. I love the look of the sweater with the ruffles and the tiny copper metallic threads through it. I guess I am attracted to shiny things! I have had the pieces for a couple of days, but just cannot make up my mind about them. I used the same necklace I had on for my other outfit, and I probably would not wear it with this outfit.
Sweater, Top, and Necklace: Chico's Harry who insisted on being in the pictures today. (He always wants to be in them, but his mean people don't always let him.) |
Debbie, in answer to your question about keeping the sweater, YES! It is very flattering on you. I know what you mean about this particular color, I look washed out in it personally. U can always add more color with a turquoise or red necklace. Also, I love the jacket you wore to lunch...so darling. Henry is too sweet. Give him a kiss for me. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteI say, keep both the sweater and the top. They don't look like they are washing you out at all. The necklace helps add color to your overall outfit. Maybe try a brighter lipstick if you are feeling washed out.
ReplyDeleteLove Harry! He looks like such a nice boy.
I'm going to come down on the pro side too. I think you look lovely and glowing in the photos of the sweater and top you are unsure about. The colors appear to be great for you. There's not as much contrast between your personal coloring and the color of the outfit as you usually have. Maybe that's what is making you question the color? From where I'm sitting its really flattering but definitely different from the darker/brighter/higher contrast outfits you have posted recently. I like it. (Which is not to say that I don't like those high contrast outfits. You know that, right? ;) )
ReplyDeleteYes keep the sweater...and wear more purple!! You look amazing in the color. Also, never think of giving away that necklace...it is great!! I would love to see you in more saturated colors like this purple...it really lights up your complextion!!
ReplyDeleteI love a picture with Harry, any day! I love your outer sweater, with the ruffles, but the under-sweater doesn't make you sing - it's pretty but not special. I agree that a more saturated color near your face is the most flattering. And I do love the new plaid jacket - excellent buy!
ReplyDeleteI love the ruffle detail on that top. What cute fuzzy socks. hahaha I wish I no longer had to work and that I could just dress up! lol I think you should most def keep the sweater. I love it! Your dog is super cute! Kiah
ReplyDeletebtw - it has been raining for 3 days here in Dallas! Total outfit killer! lol Kiah
ReplyDeleteKeep the sweater and top, the detailing is fabulous. That necklace is outstanding...I was going to say smashing, do people still say smashing? LOL The jacket is great and you do rock purple. Harry just wants to be close to you, picture or not. What a pretty dog.
ReplyDeleteI like the color of the sweater and I like the color of the ruffle but I'm not sure about the cut of the sweater/ruffle.
ReplyDeleteYou should do what you think is best but I wouldn't reject it on the basis of the color.
Okay, I'm back again to say this, because I've been thinking about your question some more:
ReplyDeleteEvery time I've ever asked for a second opinion about a piece of clothing I wasn't sure about I have never, ultimately, ended up loving that item. Because you KNOW if you love it, you don't even have to ask, you don't need a second opinion to tell you that it's fabulous, and if you're feeling the need to get a second opinion then there is something subtle about the item (something probably invisible to everyone else) that just isn't right for you and I think you should trust that little voice that is telling you that you just don't really love it.
My favorites: purple blouse, fuzzy lamb socks, Harry. Not necessarily in that order. :)
ReplyDeleteIs Harry part Airedale? We have a 14 1/2 year old Airedale, Emma.
For me too, but winter days are not the spring. An interesting jacket and nice colors. You have a beautiful dog...greet...
ReplyDeleteI love the whole outfit at the top, jewel tone purple is always one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI also like your second outfit although I am no expert on wintery clothes.
What I like the best? those cool non-Stacy and Clinton socks!
I would try the sweater with a black top...but the top needs to have a tank-top style of neckline (not cowl), and not be longer than the sweater itself. See if that works & you like it better. If not..I agree you prob should return. Xxoo Karen
ReplyDeleteI like the ruffled collar on the jacket and the big necklace on the bright purple top. I say keep the sweater!

Stacy and Clinton can go dress each other. I adore "funny" socks. I have socks with flaming hearts, penguins, kitties, and don't get me started on holiday socks. Socks are a great way to have fun. I don't advocate wearing them in a very obvious way, but having a sheep peek out from a pant hem? Adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is absolutely amazing. I adore the collar. I probably would have brought it home if I stumbled across it.
I really like the outer sweater.. but I think it needs a different underlayer. The two pieces together do create a slight wash-out affect. I have issues with creams/khakis too. But I do think if they both fit well, keep them both - just remix them with different pieces in your wardrobe. I think if you're really on the fence, I'd definitely keep the cardigan. It has a great shape for you.
I really really like the sweater and top! But, to be honest, I have a personal rule that I try to apply to my wardrobe. If I'm on the fence about something, any question in my mind, it's a NO. No matter how much someone else likes it on me, if I don't feel great in it, I'm not going to enjoy wearing it. I think it's beautiful on you, but you'll emote how YOU feel in it. Hugs to you girly!!! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteSweater and top are very nice. But it's not the best color for you. If you compare it with the purple on the first pic, which is so beautiful on you, the very soft pink makes your skin pale, which you aren't! If you have to wear a bright lipstick for looking good in an outfit, than something is wrong with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbi! i think that the sweater combo is pretty on you and softly flattering....but i wonder if that is you fave type of style? I certainly can't see you pairing it with your (sadly unperfect) dream boots! ;) It's sounding like it's fine but just not fab!
ReplyDeletei love that jacket on you!!! the colors are great and the level of contrast in the plaid makes your hair and features pop! Give Harry a hug from us! steph
I love and WANT YOUR NECKLACE, DEAR dEBBIE.

What a pretty necklace!
ReplyDeleteAs for the sweater, I'd say keep it until and unless you really decide it isn't for you. This is what I do and sometimes I find a new life in it and other times I find someone who would love it or decide it is time for us to part ways.
i say that you should keep both I really like them on you. And the dog as an accessory is nice too. My dog likes to get in my pictures too.
ReplyDeleteI like them and I see no reason why to return them. They are classics and versatile and with a necklace or scarf you can fix the color issue if you're not happy with it.
