I sent my Fiorentini + Baker boots back. I decided that I wanted boots that fit without having to do something to hide the fact that they did not fit. It was hard to do it because I really loved the look of them. Well, if nothing else, it gives me the opportunity to start the search for a new dream boot. Sometimes I think dreaming is better than the reality of obtaining an elusive object.
Here is another one of my elusive dream objects. A Chopard Happy watch. I am relatively certain that it shall remain elusive forever. But it is a mighty pretty dream.

On our blogs, we show the extravagant and the ordinary. If we wear it, it's fashion!
ReplyDeleteI like your top. And I hope something brings holiday spirit into your heart.
Awww, I'm sorry about the dream boots! But there will be others. It can be very exciting to get caught up in the chase of the perfect item.
ReplyDeleteThat's part of why I started a shopping ban. It was so exciting to go into thrift stores and find *perfect* things that I didn't even know I wanted. In addition to my usual "searches" it was too much. I'm having lots of fun in my closet lately though.
I don't think your outfit is boring. You've got color, pattern, even a little bit of sheer and shine! I wish my boring outfits could come together so well.
I hear you on the holiday spirit though. Even though I did Thanksgiving I just cannot get excited for this year. I even went out bought and sent cards and mailed gifts! Maybe it's that the weather is still really warm for this time of year.
The watch is exquisite -- dreamy, in fact : >
ReplyDeleteI like your no-frills outfit; you took the time to make it special with your necklace and great manicure. Have a lovely Wednesday.
I think you made the right choice regarding the boots. It's tough to let go of things we really want to own because they are, in and of themselves, wonderful. But I think you've made the ultimate style decision- it's better to have the perfect boots for you than to have wonderful boots that aren't quite right. I need to take a page from your book and be more discriminating. Sometimes I just want things to work so badly that I keep trying even though they clearly don't.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous watch. It's always good to know exactly what you'd get first if you suddenly come into money, I think. You have to be prepared!
I like to see at-home outfits. More than once I have questioned whether an outfit I've seen on a blog was actually worn anywhere. Not because it looked like a stay-at-home outfit, but because it looked like a, "she'd go outside in that?" outfit.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the boots. You'll find some that fufill your dreams!
I like this outfit but I LOVE the shoes.
