I Have No Words

This will be my last post for a while as I need some time away. Last Monday we took our sweet Harry to the Veterinarian for a check-up because he had not been quite himself lately. He checked out well in the office but the Vet took blood to do some tests. On Wednesday we got "THE" phone call. Harry has Lymphoma. We do not know how long we have left with him, but we know it won't be very long or long enough. As most of you know, Harry is a big part of the process of taking my blog photos. It is just too hard right now to take photos. It is really hard just dealing with the knowledge that he will be gone too soon. We have never lost this many dogs in such a short time. Each one is like a child to us and ever so special in our hearts. Harry is such a clown and has brought so much happiness to us.

These outfit photos were taken before we knew the results of the test. As usual he was excited and racing about while we were taking pictures. It was hard to believe he is so ill. I am going to include more pictures today than I normally do. We did a couple of variations on the outfit. I actually wore it with the jacket, but wanted to show the blouse more so I put on the vest. The blouse is sheer with a print of tiny metallic gold squares.

Vest: HandMade by Carla's Creations
Blouse: JCPenney
Jeans: NYDJ

Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet on Left: Leighelena
Bracelet on Right: Noosa Amsterdam with
Chunks made by me from vintage buttons
Harry had thrown his toy down by the tripod,
hoping that DH would throw it for him to fetch.
I hope you will continue to follow me even though I may not post for a while. I will be back and now that my DH has retired, hopefully we will have time for more and better pictures.  I will be watching your blogs even if I may not comment often. I feel that I am part of a wonderful community with so many friends even if we have never met in person. Please visit Visible Monday this Monday and the ones that follow.

Give your lovely furry boy as much love and time as you can, we'll still be here. *hugs*

  17. Awwww Debbi, lots and lots and lots of hugs. I'm so sorry. It has been a great time of loss for you, but I know how happy all of your dogs were with you. They are loved. That is the greatest thing we can give to our animals. A safe, happy, loving home. Harry will be greatly missed, his doggie smile always makes me smile back.

Thank you for sharing the pictures, your style, your dogs, your joy and your sorrow. Of course we will be here when you are ready to comment or make new posts. And of course, my email box is always open, you know.

  21. So sorry to hear about your sweet dog. It's bittersweet that pets are so much a part of life, but can't live as long as we do. Hopefully he'll still be happy through to the end.

Your blouse is so pretty, and the necklace is a perfect complement for it!

  22. Debbi, my heart is breaking for you and your husband right now. No words can ease the pain that you must be feeling. My prayer is that your remaining time with Harry will be filled with love and joy, for that is what he will carry home with him. I don't know what you believe, but I truly believe that our fur babies will be with us again one day.

Your friends here will wait patiently for your return. Know that you will be in the hearts and prayers of many!

  38. Most of us out here who are dog owners..feel exactly like you do. I know I do. I dread what I know is eventually ahead of me with Mele. You said it all when you said they are like a child to us. They are a huge part of our lives. I have soaked Mele's beautiful fur in tears more times than I like to think of. I am so sorry to hear about your beloved Harry. I recently went through a frightening time and spoke of it on my blog. So many bloggers out there understood! Mele is alright but I hover over her, I know that! She is getting older now..like me. I know this is just the way life is..but it's hard.
    With love,
    Mona

  43. Oh I almost cried reading this post. I have two wonderful babies that are like children to me. I would have a very difficult time dealing with this news. Just give Harry kisses, hugs, and love until he leaves this planet and goes to Rainbow Bridge.

  44. I'm sorry I missed this at the time. I hope Harry is in remission. Even then, it's a day by day process. I found the ongoing tension difficult to bear but now I'll do something like pick strawberries and think, "Must get extras for Alanis." While Miro will eat strawberries if I offer them, Alanis really liked them.

  46. I'm so terribly sorry to hear about Harry! My heart goes out to you. I lost my 14 year old Finn, the week before Christmas. It is devastating. Having more than one dog does not dilute your love for each of them. Hugs to you!! xoxo

  47. I loved a dog named Harry. He was a grey poodle mix, such a sweet boy. I loved him so. He lived with our family for many years and died one night after I had gone to bed. Our family has lots of memories of our Harry O'Harrison as I called him. Tears now running down my face.
