Visible Monday - Goldfinger

Not really a Goldfinger, but instead gold finger nails for this Visible Monday. I had on a really pretty rose gold polish from Sephora, but it chipped in less than 24 hours. Back it goes. I expect it to last more than 1 day and especially when it was a limited edition that was a bit more pricey than other polishes. The polish I have on now is Deborah Lippman 'Swagga Like Us.' It is a  beautiful duochrome that shows both gold and green gold depending on the light and angle of your hands.

The battery died in my car yesterday, so we had to go out today and get a replacement. I usually get my pictures taken on Sunday, but my husband had a club event and was gone all day Sunday, so my pictures were taken a bit late today.

Today's outfit was really a bit too warm considering it was 80 today. This weather is quite weird. Hot one day, cool the next. It makes it hard to plan on what to wear. The vest I am wearing is one I got at the 1/2 of 1/2 Name Brand Store. It was originally a double  breasted vest, but I modified it to single breasted. I got it for $6.00 and then bought new buttons. The original buttons were white and mostly broken. If not for seeing what other bloggers are doing to refashion clothing, I probably wouldn't have thought to try this, but I am so glad I did. I think this vest will get lots of use this fall and winter.

I purchased Stacy London's new book "The Truth About Style" and I will write a short review this week of my opinion about it. Has anyone else purchased or read this new book?

    I love your gold nails! You look very smart in this navy and white ensemble (I like the cheeky accent of leopard in the shoes!). I have a polka dot blouse just like this one with a tie up bow - I love it, it makes me feel very lady like.

    Still obsessed with that wrist cuff. It's got the most luxe look to it. Added to your gold polish, your hand photo could easily be an editorial photo.

    Also I am dying over the leopard boots paired with this look. Spunky and bold. Perfect for visible monday.

    You are one savvy shopper to take back that short lived nail polish. Good for you! Your hands look gorgeous too. I love the booties so much. Anything leopard print has my vote. ;) Can't wait to see your review coming up.

    I love ALL your bracelets!! Each one is more beautiful than the last. The nail polish is very glamorous and I love it with the buttons (clever!) and the leopard booties. This is a beautiful, sophisticated look. I love how you changed it to a single breasted version, too. I thought of buying that book, so I'll be interested in your opinion.

    I love the gold nails. All summer I intended to try gold polish on my toes and never got around to it. Ingenious restyling of that bargain jacket.

    Wow, Debbi...you look sensational!!! Your hair, make up, and outfit are so classy and elegant. That nail polish is gorgeous too. Great job you did on the jacket. I just thrifted my first polka dot top. It's very similar to yours except its short sleeved. I'm excited about putting together an outfit with it.

    Awesome outfit. Love how you've styled it. And can you believe, I just got some gold nail polish the other day? Several Sally Hansen polishes were marked way down at Walgreen's. Haven't worn it yet, but your pic makes me want to ASAP!

    The gold nail polish is gorgeous! And the bracelets, especially the one to the left, Leighelene?, is very beautiful - I seem to remember seeing it somewhere, and thinking it was a bit expensive, but so beautiful. It's such a fun outfit with the polka dots on top and the leopard print down.

    Great refashioning, and certainly worth keeping in mind! Double breasted to single breasted - I think I have passed on a few treasures just because they weren't single breasted.

    you look so beautiful and elegant! what a good idea to add golden buttons to the vest, it is great to the shawl collar blouse. i love shawl collar blouses but don't have one. enjoy the warm weather as long as you can, winter is coming too soon.

    I like the blouse a lot. I wonder if they still have it on their website. I'm going to look for the Deborah Lippman brand polish, too. I think those gold colors makes my hands look younger.

    I'm so glad you're expanding your possibilities by simple fixes like replacing buttons. I love the dots on you!

    As for the nail polish issue, have you considered switching to uv or led gel manicures? I suggest you get it professionally done a couple times or so, to learn the process, then you can buy the stuff and do it at home. It lasts for ages (for me, about 1.5-2 weeks, others get up to 3 weeks) with no cracking or chipping.

    I got all the equipment on eBay, but some stores sell a startup kit. It's really taking off... I'm never switching back to regular polish... no way!

    Today has been so perfectly sunny and nice, but it is supposed to snow on Friday, so I hear ya. I love your new nail polish--too bad it didn't last :-( Sorry to hear about your car! I HATE car problems! Your polka dot blouse is lovely--I love the bow in the front!
