We went to lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse. They have really good food and the Old West decor is right up my alley. I spent some time just looking at all the things that were on the walls and the amazing lighting fixtures.
Both my sister and Mother commented that I was very dressed up. I don't think I was, but I told them I had to dress nice because I was a fashion blogger! Do you ever feel that you should always dress nicely when you go out just in case someone might recognize you from your blog?

I am still working on a perfect manicure. I haven't perfected the areas around the base of the nails. It doesn't look as noticeable in person. |
I hear you on the mother thing: my mom is 83 and still plays golf. I hope to be as healthy as she in my later years!
ReplyDeleteLove that bracelet--and did you see the cool nail-imprinter machine on TV?
The language on commercial TV is awful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your mother. Did she get butter and sour cream on her baked potato?
Your nails keep getting prettier and prettier! Happy birthday to your mother, and I hope she has dozens more.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your Mom! The blouse color is very pretty. Yes, about the dressing up, or at least trying to remember to change out of the housework clothes covered with dog hair before I go out! :-D
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great birthday lunch! You look fantastic. Those pants look really good on you!

I actually think this is a bit dressed down for you. But I do have to say you're one of the few people I know who can really pull off that shade of fuchsia. I always adore that shade! I'm also loving the matchy shoes.
ReplyDeleteMy great grandmothers lived to be well into their 80s. I really hope to live as long and healthy lives as they did! One of them was even working two jobs the week before she died! They were both amazing women.
A very happy birthday to your Mom, and may she have many more years with you.
Beautiful nails! Sometimes I think wearing black gives people the vibe of being dressed up, but I know that I do feel a big of an obligation to dress up for those at work who know about Rags. My mother is the same age as yours--and lives for Dancing with the Stars, a variation on Lawrence Welk.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty color nail polish and coordinates so well with your outfit. Sounds like you had a very nice birthday lunch out with your mother.
ReplyDeleteI never have in my mind that someone would recognize me from my blog...but I do try and take advantage of moments spent out in public by putting together outfits from my thrifted wardrobe. I'm pretty much in jammies of some sort half the time that I'm at home. But...shhhhhh....don't tell. haha
Love the bracelet and the color of your blouse. Too funny, my grandparent watched Lawrence Welk too.
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed to have you Mom. My parents have both past away, but I have an 82 year old Mother-in-Law that I love dearly. she is busier than I am and takes everything calmly. She is just so cool!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh loving the bigger pics and the fabulous pink in you.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your loved ones!!!çtell your mother than 79 is the beginning of the best to come YET.

Once again I am so envious of your lovely nails. And I love the pops of color created by your blouse and shoes. Nice! To answer your other question, I try to look put together when I leave the house (unless I'm exercising), but I would be shocked if anybody recognized me from the blog. Happy birthday to your mother. Yes, 79 is a lot younger than it used to be.
ReplyDeleteYour nails beautifully accompany your top and shoes! The perfect outfit to wear to lunch in celebration of your mother's birthday.
ReplyDeleteI really like this color on you! and beautiful nails. I got something in my inbox today about the 10 most important things for a manicure ... I'll have to find it and send it on to you (it may have been refinery 29?). I actually think my grandmother would have been better than what my mom is (she is 75) with the stuff on tv these days. I think that my grandmother's generation was less judgmental.
ReplyDeletedog nose print? I can't find it ...
ReplyDelete@Kari. I would really like to read the manicure email.
ReplyDelete@Kari. Oh, it's there. I can see it like a beacon. When I came home everyone had to smell me (restaurant smells) and for some reason the top shows spots very easily. Even water spotted it.
ReplyDelete@Anne @ The Frump Factor I do love the nails, but it is a giant pain to have to redo them every few days. It is really time consuming. I am searching for something that will wear for more than a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteDebbi, love this all black combo! And the POP of color is perfect! I think my grandma would have TONS to say about what's so acceptable now via media. Frankly, I think she'd be STUNNED! Happy Birthday to your mom! Hugs! ~Serene
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit and a Happy Birthday to your mom!!!
