Visible Monday - Sequin and Snake edition

First, I would like to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy in our loss of our sweet Jada. It helps to know others understand our loss. I think that the reason this hit me so hard is that I have been with her for so many hours every day since I retired. She became a big part of my every day routine. I still find myself thinking I have left her outside or that a I need to give her her medicine.  It will take a while to get used to her being gone.
Thank you all for your kindness.

I need to get back into a routine and spend more time with my blog and viewing all of your blogs. I certainly enjoy Visible Monday and Monday Mingle and seeing what everyone is wearing. Today I received an email from Saks titled "Leather is now a year round option." Really? When it is 104 degrees in the shade? Who would really want to wear it now? That is what I like about our linkups--we get to see what is really being worn in different parts of the world. I don't think a $2400 perforated leather dress is what I would wear even if I could afford to purchase it.

My outfit for today is certainly visible. In the sunshine the sequins really sparkle! I did decide that I needed to wear a cotton tank rather than a synthetic tank. It is just too warm to layer two synthetics.

Me and Harry
Lately, Harry has been more interested in chasing flies than in having his picture taken. I was surprised that he came over and sat down with this rear on the step.

I just realized that I forgot to show my accessories!

Left side of Pic: Chico's bracelet
Right side: Michele watch and a mix of artisan
and Silpada bracelets.
The new Ross store opened here over the weekend. I was not too impressed with it. I was so looking forward to it opening, but it just did not meet my expectations. I prefer the 1/2 iof 1/2 store even though it does take a lot of time to go through everything. Last week I purchased an Avenue short sleeve jacket in orange for $2.99. This week they are supposed to have Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I am hoping that means plus sizes as well as regular, but you never know what is going to be there and that is part of the fun of it.

Please join Patti at Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday 55. I hope you all have a lovely Monday.

  2. Hope you are managing to keep cool in that heat.
Linen, cotton over leather even though it's perforated!
    Sending hugs,
    Hostess

  3. Glad you're doing a bit better, Debbi!! Ross can be really hit or miss-and it can vary from store to store.
LOVE the outfit--looks so nice and cool in this ungodly heat!
Perforated leather dress??? Only if I want to look like a sausage!

  5. Glad you're back. Love the pic of you and Mr. Harry. You look cool and comfortable in white and sparkles. Nix to the perforated leather. Guess they don't step outside the AC very often!

  6. I really like the light over white look, Debbi - you look cool, even if you don't truly *feel* it : > Harry is adorable sitting on the step. Thanks so much for linking up to Visible Monday!

  7. That's a lovely outfit and the top is beautiful! I have to say I wear leather all year round because in London it is cold enough. Hope you are feeling better and healing over the loss of Jada, it took my parents a while to get over the loss of their dog - nice to meet Harry!

  10. Are you one of the half of half preferred shoppers? I've started getting their e-mails and coupons, but have not ventured back in to the store. I love this top--and you are looking very fresh and summery in spite of the temps we've been having. I'm like you and don't think of leather as summer wear!

  13. Debbi, I have not been visiting blogs like I would like to lately due to circumstances beyond my control, but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about your sweet Jada. I thought about you even though I didn't get a chance to visit and today I found out. Truly sorry for your pain. On another note... your smile is just fabulous and who doesn't love some sequins! Your accessories are great and I see those cute little toenails poking out too, so don't think they went unnoticed! :-)

  14. I'm a bit late to offer my condolences -- I've been on an internet break until just recently -- but I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing pets is so hard.

  21. That is such a lovely tunic! These colours make you look very cool, unlike any leather garment ever could on a hot summer's day!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog Jada. I hope Harry brings you some consolation.

  22. So very sorry about Jada. Somehow when a pet is sick or we are sick, the bond seems to become even stronger.
I like Ross for linens, but despair of them for clothes.

  23. Jada was part of your family and I wish you comfort during this time of grief. I love your sparkly top with white background. You look like summer.
