Red/Green

Red and green may be traditional Christmas colors, but I love the way they look together when the green is more of an army green. I have had this shirt for a long time and it just occurred to me that I had all the components to put this outfit together in a look that makes me quite happy.

Shirt: Coldwater Creek
Hoodie Jacket: 1/2 of 1/2 Price store
Jeans: NYDJ
This outfit was worn really casually and without my usual accessories for a day at home.  It was comfortable (the word that Stacy & Clinton of WNTW dislike so much) and its bright colors were cheery on a rainy day.

I am sorry for this rather short post, but I must to watch Gibbs on NCIS to see if his character is living or dying.

  1. Oh! I like the red and green combination. I usually get the christmas association, but I think red looks really awesome with olive/army green shades.

Nothing wrong with doing a cute casual look that is comfortable! I think you're wearing casual pretty fashionably.

    Ah! Love NCIS.

  2. Debbie--who cares what Stacy & Clinton say! I just recently stumbled across the color combo myself. I decided a deep rust color works with olive drab.

  3. Now I'm trying to remember what that film was where the art director used so much red and green together. Was that Amalie, or am I thinking of something else? Anyway, you look great and those shades are an interesting take on the whole red-green theme.

That's one of the things I hate about WNTW. As far as I'm concerned, the purpose of fashion is to blend art and function, and clothing that looks great but isn't comfortable is like a great-looking car with no engine, half of the equation is missing and it fails as fashion as far as I'm concerned. I appreciate the fact that most of your outfit posts look like you can actually move in them without spoiling the effect.

  4. While I can appreciate Stacy and Clinton helping fashion disinterested up their game; I take umbrage with them changing someone's style. I think you did a great combination with these colors! BTW, I LOVE NCIS! I keep forgetting to watch the current episodes! Hugs! ~Serene

  5. Beautiful outfit. I love the red pants and shoes! I used to watch WNTW and lost interest. i think they do a good job and the concept is a good one.
I prefer to use my fellow bloggers as inspiration and rarely even buy a fashion magazine.
    works for me just fine.

  7. Debbi--another NCIS/Gibbs fan here--I loved last nites episode. Mark Harmon is my TV boyfriend (he has aged VERY well)
I loved your outfit--I like red and green together as long as the green isn't Christmas green.

  8. Hi Debbi - I think of Christmas too when I think "red & green" but I guess it only applies with candy apple red and bright green because you don't look Christmas-like at all. This is a great outfit - loving the red shoes!

  9. We had a discussion about Gibbs at work today. I thought maybe the appearance of his mother, and her story, will explain his odd personal relationships. Mr. Palmer's abs were something else!

    You look ready for Spring.
