Visible Monday

Saturday night was quite interesting (and scary) due to the tornadoes in the area. We had carried our valuables to the basement and were planning on heading there if necessary. Fortunately for us, the tornado took a right turn and missed the majority of the city of Wichita. I feel so sorry for all the people who lost everything they owned in the storm. Also fortunately, no one lost their life in Wichita from this storm although the property damage is tremendous.

My  Visible Monday Monday Mingle outfit is spring bright. I had my fingernails painted with Sinful Colors Cinderella, a pale blue sparkly polish.
Jacket: Chico's
Top: Lane Bryant
Jeans: French Dressing Jeans
Shoes: Think!
Bracelets: Kate Spade Rick Rack
I sat down on the back steps to try to get Harry to get in the pictures. He was very interested in chasing flies. When I finally got him to come over and sit down so we could take the picture, I was unable to get back up by myself due to my knee. I got the results back from the Dr. and I will have to have surgery on my knee due to a torn meniscus. I went this morning to get blood work done, now I have to wait on that and then for the surgery to be scheduled.  More waiting...
Look at those big feet on Harry.
Necklace: Vintage from ebay

My hosta's are just beautiful this year so I thought I would share a couple of pictures of them. Our back patio faces north so it is a perfect shady spot for hostas. The fern you can see in the upper left corner of the top picture is one that I got from my Mother and she had gotten the originals from my Grandmother. I take special care to ensure that they don't die!

In my last post, I featured Thinki! sandals like the ones I am wearing today. I just found out that Think changed the design of the toe area of these sandals. I don't know how they will fit. Just a small change can make a big difference in comfort. Darn you Think!, why change a good thing? The previous style Julia sandal always had excellent reviews and many women (like me) had multiple pairs. With the change, I am not sure that I can recommend them as I have done in the past.

  1. I am so thankful that you and your city are all ok. We recently had 12 tornados here in Dallas (all in the same day)! Some folks in Lancaster (about 10 minutes from me) lost everything! It is very scary. My daughter was at school!! At any rate, you look cute. I love your vintage necklace and I have been looking for a pale color to rock. I will have to look for this shade. I just love the Sinful Colors brand! Great quality and inexpensive! Kiah

  2. This blue is a great color for you. You look terrific. Glad to hear about the tornadoes missing you. We have them here in Georgia, and when the sirens go off, I panic a little. So far, none have hit our neighborhood, but we've had some horrific hale! Good luck with your surgery-will be praying for you.

  3. Your hostas are just amazing, mine never look so healthy. It'll be a while before there's anything to see, at night we still have temperatures below freezing, but seeing your beauties make me rather impatient with this very cold weather. Harry is absolutely adorable! Some people say that a woman's best accessory is a well dressed man, I say it's a great dog! I have an Alaskan Malamute myself. I love your outfit, especially the necklace, and the patterned top, and the jacket!

  5. I am so glad to hear that you are safe! I grew up in Wichita Falls, TX right in Tornado Alley as you are and I know it is un-nerving to live on edge through spring. You look great in blue and your plants are beautiful.

  6. Debbi you really look smashing in blue. I hate it too when favorite shoe lines change their designs! Good luck with the surgery, and I hope your recovery is quick and pain-free.

  7. Love your blouse! Blue is a great color on you. I'm so sorry to hear about the surgery. I hope it goes well and you heal speedily.

I hate when designers change things unexpectedly. Especially if they recreate things repeatedly.. though I am rarely a multiples purchaser, it's still helpful if they make certain shoes/clothes with the same rough draft to guess at fit and feel.

  9. You look great in that blue, Debbi, and of course with your handsome friend at your side : > Sorry you need the surgery, and I am hoping it will all go smoothly/successfully/quickly! Thanks so much for linking up to Visible Monday.

  10. Nice colors!

I'm happy to hear you survived unharmed. When the wind starts blowing in Wichita it can blow all the way to Canada before there is anything to stop it!

  11. Your nails are the ultimate accessory in this one-love them!!!! I love hostas too and I wish I could have them. The deer that wander through my yard periodically also love them. A lot.

  17. You're looking gorgeous in blue. Will the surgery be an arthoscopic thing? And those hostas, my mother would be so envious.

  18. You look great Debbie, I like the blue hues mix with the fun colors of your top. The blue on your pants is lovely. And I couldn't help giggling at the name of your polish...but I love the colors, they look so fun. Sorry to hear that your knee still hurts. I hope you don't worry too much about the surgery, just think of it as relieving you from all the pain! God bless you with safe recovery!

  24. So glad you made it through the tornado OK; it's been ages since I lived in tornado country, but they're so frightening and so destructive. My heart just goes out to everybody who experiences them.

  27. You look so pretty in these colors. There are so many things to love about this post. I am sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. I hope it will be a speedy recovery for you Debbie. Is a meniscus repair surgery super painful like a replacement? I love Happy Harry's big paws, the fern that came from your grandmother..very special, and the hostas look lovely. Wishing you the best, prayers for you. dawn suitcase vignettes xo p.s. doctor is not terribly concerned about me, had chat with him about pain, I am just super sensitive so flexeril should do the trick. xo

  28. Too bad about having to get surgery. Good luck with it! You have some wonderful pictures in this post. The one of you by the roses makes me especially happy! It's just fun to look at. And the great way those Kate Spade bangles go with that top - perfect.
