Visible Monday - Colorful Plaid and Subtle Pattern Mixing

My Not Dead Yet Style's Visible Monday style is plaid, corduroy, and a subtle pattern on a brown jacket. It is colorful and does make me feel quite visible.

I think this outfit looked better in person that it does in the pictures. The blouse has beautiful colors in it--gold, brown, and several blues. The jacket has a subtle texture, kind of chenille, and looks richer in color than it does here.  I wore this outfit to do some shopping and running errands. We also went to Carlos O'Kelly's for a late lunch/early dinner. I remember a time when people would dress up to go out to dinner. Do people in your area dress nicely to go out to eat, even in casual restaurants?

I stopped in a local boutique, Ann's Fashions, and tried on some  FDJ French Dressing Jeans. I tried on some of the side zip overdyed leggings and really like them and they fit me quite nicely. I have seen FDJ advertised as great jeans for older ladies, but I had never tried them on. Ann's is having a FDJ fit clinic next Saturday and are supposed to have all the different styles in stock. I hope to go by and find out more about the fit clinic. They are also giving away one pair of FDJ jeans every hour. I haven't won anything for a long time so maybe I can get lucky and win a pair.

Jacket: JJill

Do any of you have French Dressing Jeans? If you do, what do you think of them.

Please stop by Not Dead Yet Style and check out all the Visible Monday participants.

  1. I have never heard of these jeans...but you have wet my appetite to know more! I will begin to look for them in my area...I really like your jacket and necklace...very visible!

  2. I like how the blues and browns of the shirt, slacks and boots tie together. I have tried FDJ, but like most jeans, if they fit me in the hips there is about 6-8 inches of gap in the back waist(sigh). I wonder if a fit clinic would help me.

  3. That's a really pretty blouse. It's nice to have a switch from the leopard booties with the blue suede shoes!

  4. I adore those blue suede shoes! We don't get dressed much in Florida for *any* occasion, but I love it when people do : > Thanks for participating in Visible Monday!

  5. Your shoes are fantastic! I am thinking that we are to critical of ourselves...........Maybe we need to make a pack...........
thanks for stopping by....By the way,,,,,the queen of accessories doesn't own a scarf?

  6. Debbi, I love your pants and that necklace is so, so fabulous!

  7. Love the plaid top and those matching blue shoes. Wishing you luck winning some jeans.

  8. I love the boots, the color looks great. And I like how you always add a nice accessory to your outfit to add pizzaz.

  9. Cords are my ABSOLUTE favorite!!!!
Love these, you look great :)

  10. Lovely necklace! I love the blue suede shoes and how they set off the blue in the shirt. Good for you dressing up for dinner - it seems like a dying practice - even big cities like London can be so dressed down and what could be nicer than getting dressed for dinner?

  11. I love those blue suede shoes. You do a great job putting outfits together. Usually my eye goes to one or two details, but the overall look is always perfectly coordinated.
