Another animal print - fyi on difference in cheetah and leopard

Finally, my camera is charged and the pictures downloaded. Now I can participate in Tammy @ Silverstyle's Trending through the decades - animal prints. I got this shirt/jacket at TJMaxx on a clearance rack. I was so excited when I saw it and especially on clearance. I think it can be worn year round. In the fall and winter, I can wear a long sleeve tee underneath to make it more seasonal.  Right now I have a sleeveless tee underneath. I was determined to find a dark gold top to wear under it. I went to several stores trying to find one. I think I am going to have to learn to sew at least simple tops. I get an idea in my head and I don't want to let go and make do with something else. So, sewing my own seems to be the only way to go. Perhaps this winter I will take on that challenge.
Shirt/Jacket: Susan Bristol - TJMaxx
Tee: CJ Banks
JMS Jeggings Walmart
Tom's Shoes
Forever 21 Necklace
Bracelets from Left top: Forever 21, Necklace worn as bracelet Thrifted
Right top: Michele watch (under bracelet) Both bracelets: Forever 21
Forever 21 has some amazing jewelry. I am not sure how it will hold up over time, but it is certainly inexpensive and pretty.

I don't know if any of you have ever wondered about the difference in cheetah and leopard prints, but I was wondering so I looked it up. Cheetah spots are solid black and leopards are multi-colored rosettes. I think my jacket is kind of a fantasy cheetah as there are gold and dark brown solid spots.

I really, really appreciate the comments my readers leave each day. I have wanted to be able to comment back to many of you, but not everyone has an email attached to their name. Blogger doesn't have a good way to respond to comments, but I found a site that helped me do a hack so that I can respond to you. My comments will not appear directly below yours, but your name will show at the beginning of my comment so you can see to whom I am responding. You will have to subscribe to the comments for each post or just come back and visit again. Again, I really love comments, it lets me improve both the blog content and my outfits.

  4. I love the "fantasy" cheetah - it looks great and you worked it beautifully with the other pieces. Like you and Paula, I am a F21 junkie and I have a lot of their jewelry. It lasts long enough, in my experience, to get a very good cost-per-wear : >

  5. You look great, Debbie, and your accessories are incredible. I have purchased several accessories at F21 and so far (knock on wood) everything has held up beautifully. I agree the price is right!

  7. The close-up of the top was a good move. From a distance it's animal, close-up you've got an interesting combination.

If I am not in a hurry I go through Forever 21. It can be overwhelming. I got a cute scarf there this summer. I like to look at their window displays. The skirts are always way too short but I'm not going to buy one there anyway. The combinations are interesting.

What happened about the NYDJ? I think I'd be looking for more pants like the ones you've got on today. They're keepers!

  8. Great new top! I highly suggest learning to sew a basic top. If you can get a straight line down on a machine, they shouldn't be hard to make. (Decent) material is so expensive where I live since crafting is "going out", so I usually tend to thrift and tailor.

Is that metallic Tom's? I love them! I've been admiring tom's for awhile as a casual shoe. I haven't made the plunge yet. Also that F21 necklace is actually really cute. I'm often overwhelmed by their stuff, but I really life the geode feel.

  9. It's been a few years since I've browsed the jewelry in F21...may have to make a return visit.

Your animal print jacket is a great find! And in winter, I can picture it with a black tee!

  13. @RoseAG Rose, I still haven't gotten my NYDJ hemmed. I have just been busy this week. I think I am trying to go all the places I want to go before it gets too cold and all I want to do is hibernate.

  15. @sacramento Oh Sacramento, I know you love skirts, but I have very few and it is rare that I desire to wear one.

  16. I agree that a gold top would look good under this this outfit, but it really looks great on you -- the fit of everything is good (especially the pants). Who thought that we would all embrace the jeggings trend the way we have?! I echo your comments (every one) about comments :-).

  20. I found your blog through Donna's, "Rock the Silver" and I'm glad I did.

I like the leopard top :) I've been looking for some "comfortable" jeans but haven't looked at WalMart (I don't go there much).

  23. @Colleen Thank you, Colleen. I do love my Walmart jeggings. They have become my go to jeans as they are so comfy. I can move around and not feel constrained by the waist of the pants.
