Accessory Swap - Pansy colors

Pam at Over50Feeling40 arranged an accessory swap a while back. My swap partner was Beryl at Beryl's Tulsa Blog. Beryl and I seem to have similar taste in our accessories. When I saw this scarf, I was immediately in love with the color. It is just so me. I thought it would go with some purple jackets I have, but the colors weren't right together. However, as soon as I saw it with this green jacket, I knew they belonged together. It reminds me of pansy blossoms in the early spring or late fall. I have always been fascinated by pansies. If our winter is not too cold, we can have pansy blossoms in mid winter.

Beryl sent the scarf, a bracelet, and gold shoes. The bracelet was too small, (she thought I was petite--nice compliment, but petite I am not) so I decided to use it like a scarf slide. It works perfectly for that and adds a really neat touch to the scarf. The shoes are a bit small for my heat swollen feet, so I just slipped on the toe area and faked it.

This was really a lot of fun and I hope we can have another accessory swap in the future. You will notice that the pictures are taken inside today. It was 110 outside and I could not tolerate standing outside with a scarf around my neck no matter how pretty it is.

  4. Well, you know what they say: necessity is the mother of invention! Great idea to get creative with the bracelet (it looks really good!) And yes, those colors are popping all over the place. Nice job creating a truly striking look.

  5. Absolutely love the color and shine! Great use of the too-small bracelet. Just because it doesn't work one way, does mean it can't work as something else.

  6. You look great! I love that you figured out a way to use that bracelet. Those flat squarish beads in your bracelet are very different and fun. Did you make that bracelet? If so, where did you find those beads? I bet those shoes will fit in the winter - our hot weather is making anything except sandals too small. This was really fun! Thanks for being my swap partner.

  8. The scarf looks beautiful contrasting with your jacket! Wasn't the swap fun?! My aunt has that same David Yurman bracelet that doesn't meet in the middle. It's BEAUTIFUL! Since it's too hot to hug, let's just blow air kisses! ~Serene
