Visible Monday - Primary Colors

Visible Monday sponsored by http://notdeadyetstyle.blogspot.com/ has rolled around again. This is the last Monday in August and it just does not seem possible that summer is pretty much over for this year.

My outfit for today is one inspired by a color combination that I have seen several bloggers wear recently. I was taken by the bright green and navy color combination. I wanted to add a little to it, so I decided to add orange shoes to insert a pop of color. Once fall and winter are upon us, I will be able to use scarves to add interest to an otherwise simple outfit.

I know that some people do not like round toe shoes. I am not one of them as you can see. Comfort and having toe room is more important to me. Also, many of the experts who tell you to wear pointy toes live in areas where it is easy for them to try on many brands to find just the right shoe. Wichita does not have that many brands of shoes available for sale. I have never seen a Jimmy Choo, Prada, Chloe, Louboutin, or Chanel shoe or handbag in person. Even though most of those brands can be purchased through the internet, it is darn expensive to ship them back if they don't fit well. So, it is round toe shoes for me.

Do you wear round or pointy toe shoes?

  1. I loved what you said about the pioneers...so true, I guess I should not be so whiny, because others have had the heat much worse than I. Today is 107...thank goodness we have not had one of the predicted brown outs so far! You look lovely in these colors...for sure VISIBLE!

  2. Very nice color combination, Debbi,it does make you *look* cooler, if that helps! : >

I prefer rounded or almond-y shaped toes; the few pointy ones I have are a half-size larger than my usual, so my toes can spread out. I like your orange ones, esp the little "lift" they have.

Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday!

  3. I love blue and green together and your pop of orange is perfect! I can't wear pointy toed shoes anymore! My feet look horrible from wearing them for so many years! They hurt now! Kiah

  4. I rarely wear pointy shoes. I like round or square toes. I can still do heels just depends on how much trotting I'm going to do.
Your casual outfit is perfect. Casual is the hardest thing for me to pull off.
And as usual your bracelets are spectacular!

  5. I am digging the color pallet today! I adore an orange shoe, and those are awesome with the straps! I like a certain shoe shape that is in between an almond-toe and a round. Completely round doesn't work because I have tapered feet, but pointy toes (other than certain pairs of really great Nine West) tend to squish my feet.

I hear you on the heat. My outfit was weird today since it's so damned hot, but the instance I entered a building the a/c was running so cold I needed a sweater! Can't wait for the autumnal cool to set in.

  6. I love those shoes! The color, the straps... love! I will occasionally wear pointed shoes, but only rarely because I care more about my feet than about crazy shoes.
